XP is a popular operating system and many people use it for their work and personal computers. One of the features that XP offers is the ability to disable notification balloons. This will stop your computer from showing you notifications when something important happens, such as a new email being sent. You can do this by going to the Control Panel and clicking on the System Tools tab. Then, under Notification balloons, you will see a list of all the notifications that are currently active on your computer. You can click on one of these notifications and then select whether or not you want it to show up in your notification balloon. If you choose not to show it in your balloon, then it will not be shown in any other windows or alerts that you receive from XP.

You should note that this will disable all balloon notifications, so proceed with caution.

Click on Start \ Run and type in regedit

Now we will navigate to this path in your registry.

On the right pane right click on an open area and choose New \ DWORD Value

You will see New Value #1.  Change this to EnableBalloonTips.

Next double click the new registry entry you created.  In the Value Data field set it to 0 (zero).  Make sure Hexadecimal is selected under Base.  Click OK.

Finally restart your system and enjoy the clean boot up with no balloons popping up at you.

To remove this registry hack, just delete the registry key that you created.
