Windows Vista includes a new security feature called the Security Center. The Security Center allows you to manage your security settings and protect yourself from online threats. One of the features of the Security Center is the ability to popup notifications when specific security threats are detected. However, some users may find these notifications annoying and would like to disable them. In this article, we will show you how to disable these notifications in Windows Vista. To disable the Security Center popup notifications in Windows Vista:

  1. Open the Control Panel by clicking on the Start button and then clicking on Control Panel.
  2. Under the heading “Security”, click on “Security Center”. 3. Under “Popups & Notifications” on the left-hand side, click on “Notifications & Alerts”. (If you have more than one notification or alert enabled, they will be listed in alphabetical order.) 4. On the right-hand side, under “General”, uncheck the box next to “Enable pop-up notification for security alerts”. 5. Click on OK to close the window and save your changes. ..

Before we begin: I’d definitely recommend keeping the firewall enabled at all times.

To disable the popup messages shown above, right-click on the little red shield icon and choose Open Security Center from the menu. You could also open Security Center from the start menu.

Click the link for “Change the way Security Center alerts me”

Now you’ll see a dialog with three choices. Choose the bottom one if you don’t want the notifications anymore.
