Windows Vista is a great operating system, but it can be difficult to find the right drivers for your device. Here are some tips to help you fix device drivers in Windows Vista:
- Start by opening Device Manager. This tool will show you all of the devices on your computer. You can see which devices are connected to which ports, and you can also see which devices are missing drivers.
- To find the driver for a specific device, open the Device Manager and select that device from the list. Then click on the Driver tab and select the driver you want to install from the list.
- If you don’t have any driver files for a specific device, or if your driver installation doesn’t work correctly, you can try downloading them from Microsoft’s website or from one of the online stores that sell Windows Vista software. Once you have downloaded the driver files, open them and install them on your computer.
- If you still have problems installing drivers or if your driver installation doesn’t work correctly, contact Microsoft support and ask for help. Microsoft support is available 24/7 and can help you fix any problems with your device drivers in Windows Vista.
First you’ll need to open Device Manager. The easiest way is to just type device manager into the start menu search box, but you could also go through the control panel if you choose.
Once you have it open, browse down to the problem device, right-click and choose Properties.
Now click on the Driver tab, and then click the Roll Back Driver button.
You’ll get a prompt telling you that you don’t want to do it, but go ahead anyway. You can always click the Update Driver button to get the latest version again.
As you can see from my choice of device, the latest touchpad driver was causing problems for me, so I rolled it back.
