Firefox is a popular web browser and one of the most popular browsers in use today. It’s also one of the most customizable browsers, letting you add your own shortcuts and features to make Firefox even more convenient and user-friendly. One way to add a quick restart function to Firefox is by using the Firefox Add-on Manager. To access the Add-on Manager, open Mozilla Firefox and click on the three lines in the top left corner of the window. On the left side of this window, you’ll see a list of all your current Firefox add-ons. Click on any add-on name to open its details page. On this page, you’ll see a list of options that are available for your add-on. The first option is called “Restart Now.” This option allows you to restart Firefox immediately if it’s been closed or if it’s been hibernated (it’s usually closed when you wake up from sleep). The second option is called “Restart When New Data Is Available.” This option allows you to restart Firefox only if there are new changes (such as new tabs or windows) that have been added to Mozilla Firefox since it was last restarted. The third option is called “Restart If There Are Errors.” This option allows you to restart Firefox only if there are errors in Mozilla Firefox (for example, if it has stopped working). If you choose any of these options, Mozilla Firefox will start up again with the new settings but will not be able to access any of its features or shortcuts.

After Installing the Extension

Installing the QuickRestart extension is straightforward with no options to worry about. So, what do you get with the extension? Three quick and easy ways to restart Firefox. The first two are shown in the “File Menu”…a menu command that you can select and the appropriate keyboard command “Ctrl+Alt+R”.

If you prefer to keep your “Menu Toolbar” hidden then you can use the toolbar button for QuickRestart instead. “Right Click” on one of your toolbars and select “Customize…” to open the “Customize Toolbar Window”. The toolbar button will most likely be located at or near the bottom…place it in a location that best suits your needs.

One wonderful little button to make your life a lot easier.

Conclusion

If you are tired of having to restart Firefox the traditional way, then QuickRestart is an extension that you will not want to ever be without.
