If you’re a Firefox user, you may have noticed that the context menu for some items in your browser has disappeared. This is because Firefox doesn’t remember the last item you used it on. To add properties back to the context menu, follow these steps:
- Open Firefox and click on the three lines in the top left corner of your screen. This will open a new window with a list of all of your current windows.
- On the left side of this window, click on the wrench icon (the one with a plus sign next to it). This will add a new window called “Context Menu.”
- In this new Context Menu, you’ll see two tabs: “Add New” and “Remove.” The Add New tab will contain all of the items that were removed from the context menu when you last used it; the Remove tab will contain all of the items that were added to it.
- To add an item to either tab, click on its name in one of those tabs and then select “Add.” When you’ve added everything that you need to, click on OK to close both tabs and return to your original windows.
Before
With the newest version of Firefox you may have noticed a very useful command missing from the “Context Menu”. Here you can see that when we right clicked on the article link we were unable to “access” the properties for it…
Same article and the same problem when trying to “access” the properties for one of the images.
After
Once you have installed the extension you can once again “access” the properties for those links…
And those images…
Looking very good…
Conclusion
If you have been frustrated with the removal of the “Properties Command” from the “Context Menu” in Firefox 3.6, you can now add it back in just a few moments.
