If you’re like most people, you probably use a wheel mouse to control your computer volume. But there are a few ways to easily control your computer volume with a wheel mouse, and this article is going to show you how. The first way is to use the wheel mouse in the same way that you would use a regular mouse. When you move the wheel mouse around, it will move the cursor along the screen. This means that if you want to change the computer volume, all you have to do is move the wheel mouse around until you find the level that corresponds with your desired sound level. The second way to easily control your computer volume is by using profiles. A profile is like a preset for your computer. You can create profiles for different users on your computer, or even for different types of computers (PCs, Macs, etc.). When you create a profile for a wheel mouse, it will automatically set up sound levels and other settings so that when you use that profile on another type of computer (PC or Mac), it will work just as well as if it was created specifically for that type of computer. So there are two ways to easily control your computer volume with a wheel mouse: by using profiles or by using the various settings that are automatically set up when you create a profile. whichever method works best for you should be fine!

Volumouse is a cool free utility that makes controlling the computer volume a bit easier.  Not only does this application allow easy volume control, it also has functionality for you to control window transparency and screen brightness.  Here is an example of controlling Firefox transparency over an Excel document.  I guess I am not sure exactly what I would use this for … but it is definitely cool!

Volumouse comes with an easy to use Zip Installer which allows you to decide how and where to install the application from one screen.  I wish more applications came with this type of installation utility rather than clicking forward and back through install screens.

Advanced settings allow you to choose between sound mixers on your machine and allow for additional functionality according to your preferences.

There are also three plug-ins on the Nirsoft site which allows hiding and active window, resize active window, and open or close your CD / DVD ROM door with a key / mouse combination.
