If you’re a Linux user, you know that there are a lot of ways to get your hands on the latest Ubuntu releases. One way is to install a drop-down console. This is a console that lets you access the various features of Ubuntu in a more convenient way than using the traditional menus and icons. To install a drop-down console in Ubuntu, first open up Terminal and type the following command: sudo apt-get install linux-dropdown
Installing the console is easy. Open up a terminal window and type in the following command:
The properties dialog will pop up, just close it for now. Hit the F1 key, and down pops the console:
So useful! I don’t think I’ll ever use the regular console again. If you want to get to the properties window to change some of the settings, just right click the window and choose preferences.
